La Roche-Posay Invisible Fresh Mist Spray SPF50

La Roche-Posay Invisible Fresh Mist Spray SPF50
La Roche-Posay Invisible Fresh Mist Spray SPF50

 Hiya Darlins

We all know fine well that we should be using SPF on our faces every single day of the year, but lets be honest, how many of us actually do ?  we may have the very best intentions, especially nowadays with so many Retinol / Acid products on the market, but often we skip this layer of protection as it causes greasiness or is just too much over all of the other layers of skincare we use, so those best intentions often go out of the window especially on days where you can't actually see the sun.

La Roche-Posay Invisible Fresh Mist Spray SPF50

La Roche-Posay Invisible Mist is a real game changer in my opinion, it has full SPF50 coverage in the finest of fine dry mist which is totally anti-shine. I have used this bare faced and also over a full face of make up without any disturbance or even noticing it was on,  The thing that really hit me with it, is the fact that it is a pleasure to use, it's dry comfortable and at the same time refreshing, topping up through the day was actually a pleasure and not a chore, not sure it needed topping up but I loved doing it.

3 second burst at 15 cms from the face is all that was needed. obviously you need to close your eyes and mouth :)

The price point on these, means you can have one in your handbag and one at home, so you never need to get cooked wherever you are.

Luxury British Fragrances

Hi Loves

It's a funny thing how we always think of perfume as being traditionally French, ?  Unless of course you are a lover of British fragrances, of course I could talk about all 133 of them; shocked at that number ? I was, but in this post I want to feature a few luxury brands that you may not have considered trying.

Penhaligon's Gardenia

Described as Achingly elegant & Like a regal bath of  sensuality, this fragrance to me is unmistakably English and like a garden on a warm Summer day.
Top Notes Violet, Rhubarb, Hyacinth.  Mid Notes Gardenia, Rose, Tuberose,Orange Blossom.  Base Benzion, Sandalwood, Musk.

Penhaligons.com

Clive Christian 1872 Feminine

1872 by Clive Christian is available in both feminine and masculine versions,  the feminine version is literally " Summer in a bottle with top notes of Orange, Lemon, Pineapple and Lime followed by mid notes of Rose, Lily of the valley and Violets, with a base of Cedar, Oak Moss and Sandalwood, it has a lasting power without being overpower full.

CliveChristian.com

Constance By Deco London

If you like your fragrance heady and distinctive, then Constance is definitely for you, it is a deep woody oriental perfume with top notes of Bergamot, Mandarin Blossom, Mimosa and Raspberry Blossom, followed by a heady floral spice mix of Jasmine, Rose, Pink Pepper, with a base of Vanilla, Musk and Oak.

Deco-London.com

These are most definitely something a little different in terms of British Perfume.

Frezyderm Night Force A + E | Eye Balm

Frezyderm Night Force A + E | Eye Balm

Hi Darlins

You have heard me talk about the brand Frezyderm previously when I wrote about the Sun Screen Velvet SPF Here, this time I have been trying out 2 products from them, Night Force A+E  Anti Ageing Night Cream Retinol & Vitamin E 50ml  and also Eye Balm 15ml

The first thing I have to say is that I really dislike the website, it is awkward to navigate and not particularly informative, I don't usually list ingredients in my posts but on this occasion I have listed a few as they are not shown on the website, and I know that to some people ingredients are of paramount importance.

That said, this really is the only negative point I can mention, I love the products, they work really well and are an amazing price for no frills skincare. I adore Retinol with it's ability to speed up cell turnover and boost collagen production, it can be found in varying degrees depending on the product, a derivative of vitamin A  Night Force also contains Vitamin E, therefore the A + E in the name, I'm guessing because if you didn't know Retinol was from Vitamin A you may be left wondering !  this lightweight night cream is easy to use and is not heavy or greasy which I love, as there is not much worse than your fabulous products ending up wasted all over your pillow, it leaves you with fresh glowy morning skin, that feels better to the touch, it is suitable for all skin types, as with all of the Frezyderm products I have tried it comes in the airtight pump system that saves you contaminating the product with your fingers, keeping it fresher.
Listed Active ingredients Vitamin A lipisomes, Isoflavones, LMW Sodium Hyaluronate, Procyanidins, Yeast Extract.

Ingredients list.
aqua,caprylic/capric,Trygliceride,Glycin,Squalene, Sacchomyces/Xyilinum black tea ferment,Betaine, + 45 others

Frezyderm Night Force A + E | Eye Balm

Frezyderm Eye Balm

This 15 ml pump system will last you for at least the 12 month life shown on the packaging, you need the tiniest amount for each eye, as you will know from previous posts I am not a huge fan of eye creams as they tend to make me look puffy, this is not one of those, a light cream gel that is really effective effect on fine lines, they appear softened and less visible over time, there is no irritation for me when using this and I have to say it out performs many that I have tried for less than a fraction of the price.

Listed active ingredients
Acetyl Tetrapeptide,Caffine, Escin, Argan Oil Protiens, Bioflavinoids.

Ingredients
Aqua, Butylene Glycol, Panthenol, Squalene, Helianthus Annus Seed Oil, plus 22 others.

Of  the 3 products I have used from Frezydem I can honestly say they have been a really lovely experience, I think they are definitely worth exploring. My current favourite has to be the SPF.

Frezyderm is available in the UK Direct from their website www.Frezyderm.co.uk

Dear Rose Nymphessence

Dear Rose Nymphessence
Dear Rose Nymphessence

Dear Rose Nymphessence

Hi Loves

If you like niche fragrance then you will undoubtedly have heard of the Dear Rose fragrance house. The Mother and Daughter duo Chantal Roos & Alexandra Roos have created fragrances combining the emotions of both Music and Perfume, with her history of working on perfumes such as L’Eau d’Issey  YSL Opium and Kouros to name a few Chantel is renowned in the world of fragrance while Alexandra is a  singer/songwriter with 4 albums to her name; had the thought that music and fragrance both evoke emotions which make the ideal partnership.

You would be forgiven for thinking Dear Rose is simply a Rose based fragrance, the name is a celebration of women and when you think about fragrance your first thought will probably be flowers and usually a Rose, the thought behind it is the the Rose celebrate women and the thorns on the logo design point out that as women we know how to defend ourselves.  Fabrice Pellegrin is the perfumer behind the brand and signs each fragrance Dear Rose.

Dear Rose Nymphessence

Nymphessence is a fresh floral citrus fragrance with fruit and a hint of pink peppercorn & warm musk at it's base. The first time I wore this I was asked on no less than 3 occasions what I was wearing, it's a beautiful  daytime fragrance that is also perfect for evenings, there is nothing loud or heavy, it wont overshadow anyone you are with but will leave people remembering you and wondering what you are wearing, which I find quite lovely as nowadays it's fairly easy to guess what someone is wearing and quite often you find more than one person wearing the same perfume in your company, slightly awkward as it's like being seen out in the same dress !

Top notes are pear, mandarin orange and bergamot; middle notes are magnolia, Pink Peppercorn, freesia and orange blossom; base notes, white musk and amber.

The packaging and design are stunning, the Rose Gold theme runs across the bottle design and the inside of the beautiful white inner package box, all housed in a Rose Gold and white outer sleeve, this is luxury at it's finest and definitely not a bottle you would want to hide away.

Dear Rose fragrances are available at   and Liberty

Joan Collins Compact Duo

Joan Collins Compact Duo
Joan Collins Compact Duo

Hiya Beautiful

Sometimes something is so gorgeous you don't want to use it !

This Compact Duo by Joan Collins Beauty is one of those things, it is a work of art, the design and construction are a thing of genius and beauty, the lipstick case sits on top and inside the compact at the same time, sat alongside the face powder with it's own mini puff, all housed in a vintage Hollywood Star style golden compact case complete with mirror, it is sheer glamour, I remember the days that ladies used to proudly show off their gorgeous compacts and apply lippie at the dinner table, you could go back to those days with no hesitation showing off this gorgeous kit.

Joan Collins products for me represent everything I love about make up and beauty, the quality of the products are amazing and the sheer glamour brings back the joy of being a woman in these days where we compete with men ( and win )

In this compact we have Lipstick in Fontaine which is creamy rich and has incredible staying power, not that you would mind re applying this every half an hour just to show off !

And the super finely milled Meticulous face powder is ideal for touch ups.

This Duo comes in 12 shade combinations and the lipsticks can be interchangeable.

Goldfaden MD Detox Clarifying Facial Wash

Goldfaden MD Detox Clarifying Facial Wash
Goldfaden MD Detox Clarifying Facial Wash

Hiya My Gorgeous Reader

Thanks again for stopping by, I don't get much of chance to say thanks for being here, I really appreciate you.

Goldfaden MD is not a completely new brand to me but one that I would very much like to discover more of, I completely fell in love the Doctors Scrub in 2016 which you can read about here  this time round we are discovering the Goldfaden MD Detox Clarifying Facial Wash, anything containing the word detox hits the spot for me, although I have to be honest and say I am not usually a lover of face wash of any description as I tend to find them drying and itchy, although this is described as a face wash I would consider it more of a treatment.

Firstly it contains some of my favourite ingredients a combination of Lactic, Glycolic and Alpha Hydroxy Acids that beaver away to remove dead skin cells and dirt build up inside the pores, therefore giving your skin a huge deep cleaning detox, as always whenever using any product containing Acids do NOT forget your sunscreen as they will make the skin more sensitive to harmful rays,  this foaming cleanser has been designed for problematic skin, although I have no problems with my skin, I have become a little bit obsessed by this facial wash as I love its deep down cleaning effect, I use a an oil based or balm cleanser to remove make up and then one pump of this fabulous foam ensures nothing grim is left on my face at all.  There is nothing drying about it although you would half expect it to be with the acid content, it simply leaves you super clean, soft and positively glowing, but the best bit is the smug feeling you get knowing that your skin could not get any cleaner.

Lucia Magnani Skin Care

Lucia Magnani Skin Care

Hiya Darlins

It's not often I get to try out such a luxurious range as Lucia Magnani Skincare, the range become available exclusively at Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge in March 2017 with prices starting at £90.00 for Refreshing Energising Tonic to £590.00 for the Ben Essere Set.

Ben Essere is Italian for wellbeing/wellness and is Lucia's Mantra as she believes that wellbeing is the achievement of physical and mental balance that reflects on the beauty of the skin, which is the brand's USP combining science and nature to create this balance.

Combining clinically proven anti-oxidents such as CoQ10, Vitamin E and Alpha Lipoic Acid alongside Quartz, Sea Salt and Grape extract the range aims to not only work but increase your feeling of wellbeing while using them.

Lucia Magnani Skin Care

Starting out with Daily Firming Hydrator, this lightweight formula literally sinks into the skin and gives an immediate visible brightening effect which is aided by advanced light diffusers, containing Coenzyme Q10, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Alpha Lipoic Acid said to " protect against Free Radicals and maintain a beautiful youthful skin while it improves the appearance of mature skin."  £195.00 50ml

Lucia Magnani Skin Care

Retexturising Radiance Mask
I will literally sob when this jar runs out, it is one of the most beautiful products I have ever experienced, at first glance it is a mud mask, but when you apply it nothing you have used before comes close, unlike usual masks you massage this in, you feel it drawing without turning chalky and cracking, it rinses off beautifully and you are literally left staring at your skin. The formulation is based on the rich mineral mud and waters  from  Castrocaro Terme in Italy enriched with CoQ10, Vitamin E and Alpha Lipoic Acid, as with everything in the range you will find these basics evident, again combining Nature with Science. At the time of writing I cannot give you a price on the mask alone as it appears to only be available as part of the Ben Essere Set.

I was lucky enough to be offered a full facial by Lucia Magnani at but unfortunately I was due into hospital on the day, and wasn't contacted with a further date  so  I can't give you the full experience, but can you imagine just how luxurious it would have been ? literally facial heaven.

Flagrant Delice Perfume by Terry de Gunzberg

Flagrant Delice Perfume by Terry de Gunzberg
Flagrant Delice Perfume by Terry de Gunzberg

Hiya Loves

I can honestly and truthfully with my hand on my heart say I am in Love !  this is not lust, it is not going to be a fleeting affair, this is the real deal, a forever love.  I think as women in our lifetimes we have one or two, maybe even a few fragrances we truly adore and will stay with us forever, and it is rare to find a new one that from the very first spritz is true love.  I have found it for me with Flagrant Delice by Terry de Gunzberg. I do love the By Terry make up range, and I have to say this is my first experience of her fragrance range but seriously, if you love fresh clean yet still sexy this is for you, no heavy musk, no cloying over fragrance, this is the ultimate in femininity.

Flagrant Delice Perfume by Terry de Gunzberg

The heavy glass bottle is simplicity itself, it has no need to shout, but true class rarely does !

The top notes to this fragrance are Almond Milk, Redcurrant , followed by Fig, Bergamot and Mandarin, at it's base lies Tonka Bean and White Musk. It is literally Summer in a bottle, it is one of those that you just want to close your eyes and breath deeply, it does have a really good lasting power but if you wanted it to go from day to night you would need an additional spray in the evening, nothing unexpected there and longer lasting than many I have experienced.

It is reminiscent of the type of fragrance that a warm evening in Ibiza would bring, heaven that you never want to end.

This is one to search out when you are next in a fragrance department, one sniff and you will, like me, hooked for life.

Rita Hazan New York

Rita Hazan New York

Hiya Darlins

How many of us colour our hair nowadays ? to be fair I can't think of many people I know who don't, if put to the challenge I probably couldn't even tell you what my natural colour was, before it went grey, it has been coloured since I was 15, which between you and me was many years ago ha ha !  and YES they did have hair colour way back then !

You would be forgiven for not having heard of Rita Hazan in the UK, she is famous in the US as a colourist/artist/innovator and has worked of such famous locks as Beyonce,Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson to name a few. She is both daring and innovative when it comes to colour and as such has become known as the  "The Hair Colour Authority "  her range of products cover the whole spectrum when it comes to coloured hair from damage, fading, grey's and texture changes, for every problem Rita has a solution.

With 7 items in the range, I have sampled 3 for this post.

  • True Color Shampoo
  • True Color Conditioner
  • True Color Ultimate Shine Gloss (5 shades +Clear)
  • Weekly Remedy
  • Triple Threat Split End Remedy
  • Root Concealer ( 5 shades )
  • Root Concealer Touch Up Stick Temple and Brow Edition (3 shades )

Rita Hazan True Color Shampoo 250ml

With it's mild botanical fragrance this shampoo is said to replenish and hydrate while deep cleaning and protecting colour.  I used the smallest amount 10p size around the size of a US Quarter, this lathered quickly into what only can be described as a rich cream, it was like massaging your head with moisturiser, I have never experienced a shampoo quite so rich, it felt really luxurious and rather special, my hair only needed one wash and was left super clean but not over washed as to be squeaky.

Rita Hazan True Color Ultimate Shine Gloss 150ml

This was a totally new concept for me, it is a lightweight foam that you apply between shampooing and conditioning, ideally straight after colouring, it is used to give you the ultimate gloss and to keep that just coloured shine that tends to fade quickly, you pump a handful apply directly after shampooing, and rinse immediately, for a super gloss leave it on for 3 minutes before rinsing, I LOVE this, it is so simple and yet so so effective, I would honestly say it's one of those products that you could quickly become addicted to.

Rita Hazan True Color Conditioner 250ml

Again a lightweight botanical fragrance, this conditioner is the finishing step for the ultimate condition and gloss, again a small amount is all that is needed, my hair was left super soft and shining after using this.

I did the unthinkable when testing out this range, I wanted to see firstly how long the shine would last and secondly to test out my theory that high end hair products work better than cheaper ones, I wash my hair every other day as a rule, by day 2 it usually looks a bit flat and I ( feel ) rather than see it needs washing, by day 2 with this, it was as fresh as day one so I left it, and I left it on day 3, on day 4  I went out to dinner with unwashed hair, you would not have known it needed washing, it still had lots of movement and looked fresh, by day 5 I gave in, rather than the product giving in, I probably could have gone on for another day with the testing, but my mind was getting freaked at having unwashed hair, I have never experienced anything quite like it.

Walkies of Westerham

Hi Loves
this is not a usual post for me as there is no make up or face cream to be seen, this post is about Dogs, well in fact Dog walking.

Have you ever used a dog walking service for your fur baby ? this is NOT an advert, it is written as my way of letting my daughter know how proud of her I am, you see, my eldest has her own dog walking business, and it really is becoming quite a thing !
Walkies of Westerham

At first I was thinking, oh here she goes, my eldest daughter Kelly has lots of great ideas, but this time she set her mind and more so her heart into it and the rest is history, she has always loved dogs, I remember as a small child she found a straggly stray Yorkie that she bought home, begging me to keep it, it was with us a couple of days while the police found his owner, and left her so bereft at his leaving, I ended up buying her one !  now as an adult she has her own dogs who are ridiculously spoiled.

I have seen her be bitten, ending up in hospital, and making a joke of her injury by sending us all bandage pics laughing saying it wasn't the dogs fault, ( braver than me)  I would have unfriended that pooch for sure !  It has been so interesting to hear the reasons people use a dog walker, and my favourite is when someone isn't well enough or able to walk their pet but they are the best company for the person, favourite is probably the wrong word but you know what I mean lol, it's lovely that it means they can keep their pet in the knowledge that it's getting it's exercise.

It has become a bit of a family joke how she takes all these dogs to heart and floods us with pictures of flipping strangers dogs LOL  but it kind of just shows how much she loves them all.

Anyway, if ever you find yourself in the situation where you can't walk your pooch for some reason, using a dog walker is certainly worth a thought.

SkinFix

SkinFix

Hi Loves

another new discovery for me, you may have already spotted SkinFix in the shops.

The Original SkinFix healing balm was first discovered being made in a kitchen in Nova Scotia Canada in 2012 by Amy Gordinier-Regan  a beauty exec frorm London & NY of over 20 years experience  who had settled in Canada with her children, the rest as they say is history, the brand who proudly stand by the name Skinfix  "Thats what we do "  is now available here in the UK, the brand is new to me in that I had seen it in Boots but had not tried it.  Specifically designed to alleviate the problems associated with dry skin conditions such as Eczema and is a soothing as it gets. With some great awards and accreditations to it's name it also prides itself on being cruelty free and as natural as possible. You can spot by the key ingredients in each product that this is all about soothing and repairing.

Bearing in mind I have no particular skin issues other than often being on the slightly dry side I tested out 3 of the products in the vast range.

SkinFix

Starting at the face with the Skinfix Moisture Boost Serum 30ml

Housed in a hygenic plastic pump dispenser the white liquid literally turns clear and almost gel like as it touches the skin, it smooths on easily and has no distinctive fragrance, at first I was left waiting for it to absorb and thinking hmm not keen on this it's sticky, of course all it needed was a little more application on my part and it was soon absorbed leaving my face feeling primed to the touch, I actually gave it a good massage in as I wanted to check for the dreaded rolling that some serums do, this was not even slightly a problem as no silicons are included in the product, this was a pleasure to use, it plumped and moisturised as promised and allowed make up application without the need of a primer. Key ingredients Red Seaweed, Peony Root, Aloe Leaf Extract, Macadamia Oil and Rice Bran Extract.

Skinfix Soothing Lotion 370ml

This for me really was the star of the three products I tried, it is a lightweight fragrance free lotion for the body I found it particularly useful  for my shins and elbows which do suffer with dryness, and I actually tested it out as an aftersun on a very overcooked partner and it worked beautifully, the pump dispenser makes it easy to apply, saving the need of dipping your fingers into a gloopy jar. the key ingredients are Oatmeal, Vitamin E and Coconut Oil. Not the most glamerous packaging but I think in this case the concentration is on healing and not beauty, although for me as a new discovery  I would call a beauty product.

SkinFix

Skinfix Hand Repair Cream 90ml

Let me start by saying if you are looking for a pretty flowery little handbag handcream then this is not for you, this is the Big Guns of hand care.  It is a very rich fragrance free  formula that I would describe almost a barrier cream, you are left with residue on your hands to hold in the moisture and protect from further damage, if you have problems with dry skin on your hands, cracking or flaking then this is 100% for you, although it wasn't for me personally for use during the day, I am a huge lover of cotton gloves and hand cream and this is where this one came into its own for me, it was more of a treatment than a luxury and left my hands literally flake free and smooth. key ingredients  Shea Butter, Vitamin E and Almond Oil.

Boots Cracked Heel Balm VS Flexitol Heel Balm

Are your feet beach ready ? that sounds so cliche but seriously this whole hard skin thing is a total pain, it really isn't something that ever occurred to me when I was young other than reading in Jackie magazine it was good to rub your feet in the sand, which I found really useful living in South London !  Some years later I was a pretty posh work do and one of the women had on the best pair of Jimmy's ever, but I overheard a gaggle of bitches talking about the "state of her heels" well of course I had to look as I was only interested in lusting after her shoes and hadn't noticed said heels, they were, I have to say pretty grim and I felt really sorry for the poor thing and grateful that my own heels where not on show for scrutiny by the heel spies.  Since that time it has been a mission to keep them in good condition and I have to admit to being ultra slack in the winter when in fact that would be the very best time to look after them in socks, nooo I leave it till they need to be exposed and panic.

A long while ago I was recommended an Australian heel cream by a chiropodist, I bought it and it was a marvel, Flexitol was not widely available at that time and was sold as Australia's number 1, as the years have progressed I find that this isn't doing what it used to, and was getting pretty fed up, I have since discovered

Boots Cracked Heel Balm VS Flexitol Heel Balm

Boots Cracked Heel Balm which claimed to work in 3 days, this stuff is brilliant, to be fair to it the visible improvement was fabulous although if the problem is really bad I would anticipate longer than 3 days, but it is  100% the top of my list now.

B.Makeup Sculpt & Highlight Contour / Kohl Liner

Following on from my previous reviews on the B.Makeup range from Superdrug HERE  I have been having a little play with the Kohl Liner and Sculpt and Highlight Contour Stick.

Firstly the Sculpt and Highlight, a creamy soft double ended stick crayon with plenty of product, these come in 4 shades the one shown here is 04 Universal, available in light, medium, dark and universal there are shades to suit every skin tone.  I have to be honest and say I am not a contouring woman, I have said many times before that I absolutely admire the girls and make up artists that can transform a look using the contour method, I am not one one of them, previous attempts have made me look like I have just finished the Mud Run. This however is the easiest thing on the planet to use, and I did actually manage to enhance my cheekbones with a couple of stripes easily blended, well....who knew it would be that easy ?  I am a huge highlighter fan as I think it can lift a dull complexion really easily, but often powders sit in the "laugh" lines, this one being creamy is fabulous for adding highlight without highlighting the devil lines.

Kohl Liner, I am massive lover of Kohl pencils, I believe they come in two types, brilliant or downright unusable, these I am pleased to say are brilliant, usually a brilliant kohl comes from the higher end ranges of makeup but B. have managed to produce high end quality at an amazing price, the one I  have tested out is Grey, they come in White, Copper, Jade, Grey and of course Black, I was pleased to try Grey as it is usually hard to get a good pigment with anything other than Black, this was fabulous, a soft smudgeable twist up pencil with a really good colour payoff, perfect for those of us that can't quite manage a cat flick eye liner, just smudge and go.

The range is available exclusively at www.superdrug.com
